July has come to an end, and it was an outstanding month for tuna anglers in Cabo! We enjoyed some spectacular catches, with Yellowfin tuna in the 100–200 lb range providing plenty of action—and plenty of fresh fish to take home. As water temperatures continued to rise, the Picante fleet also released several impressive Blue Marlin, ranging from approximately 350 to 500 lbs. Striped marlin releases remained consistent, with fish averaging around 150 lbs, while Sailfish activity increased, with many sightings and several successful releases throughout the month. For the dinner table, our guests also brought home delicious Dorado and wahoo alongside their tuna.

Water conditions remain excellent for a summer Cabo fishing adventure, making this a great time to plan your Cabo San Lucas fishing charter. Ram Rod  the Albermarle 31’, released 6 Striped marlin, 4 Dorado and 10 Yellowfin tunas.
 
Picante Express, 32’ Cabo Express released 10 Striped marlin, 1 Blue marlin and 1 Sailfish, they also 2 Dorado, 10 Yellowfin tuna and 1 more Wahoo for the count.

Picante Dream 35’ Cabo Flybridge, released 2 Blue marlin, 6 Striped marlin and also one Sailfish, they landed 14 Yellowfin tuna and 4 Dorado.

Salsa, Cabo express 35’ released 10 Striped marlin and boated 16 Tuna and 2 Dorado.

Cow tuna are making a strong showing in Cabo! These powerful yellowfin are the kind of fish that put anglers to the test and make for unforgettable days offshore. The tuna bite is hot—are you ready for your turn?

Picante Pride, Cabo express 36 ft, released 1 Blue marlin, and 8 Striped marlin and boated 4 Dorado and 20 Yelowfin Tuna.

The Tollycraft 40’, Picante, released 7 Striped Marlin and 1 Blue Marlin, got 10 Tuna for dinner also.

Blue Marlin bite is heating up!! These incredible billfish continue to provide exciting action offshore, and watching them swim away strong is always one of the most rewarding moments of a day on the water.

Picante 45, Cabo Express 45’, released 10 Striped marlin and 1 Sailfish, boated 12 Yellowfin tuna, 2 Mahi and 2 Wahoo.

Caliente 45, Cabo Express 45’ released 10 Striped marlin, and boated 3 Dorado and 18 Tuna and 2 Wahoo.

The 2026 Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Tournament wrapped up on August 1 in Buena Vista, Baja California Sur, with 82 teams competing for an impressive $1,603,650 USD prize pool—more than 28 million pesos! PICANTE FLEET FISHING REPORT
 

We wrapped up July with plenty of tuna and solid marlin numbers. This month, we were fortunate to release several sailfish as well. As the water started warming up, the blue marlin arrived — we had quite a few on the line, and they were impressive in size! It seems they’re getting ready for tournament season, putting up a strong fight. As for dorado, only a few showed up, but we’re hopeful that August and September will bring a good run for anglers targeting this gamefish.

The best fishing grounds this July in Cabo were: Cortez side,  San Jaime, 95 and Golden gate.
The best bait/lure was Mackerel, Ballyhoo, Cocinero, plumas, palitos, cedar plugs and marlin lures.

Picante Expresso the Cabo Express 31’ released 10 Striped marlin, plus one Sailfish, boated 2 Dorado and 14 Yellowfin tuna.


Picante Express, 32’ Cabo Express released 11 Striped marlin and 2 Sailfish, they have a great tuna month boated 41 Yellowfin tuna and 2 more Dorado for the count.


The Cabo Express 35’ Salsa released 5 Striped Marlin, 1 Blue marlin and boated 10 Yellowfin tuna and 4 Dorado.


Picante Dream 35’ Cabo Flybridge, released 10 Striped marlin and one more Sailfish, they landed 65 Tunas!! Sashimi for everyone! And 4 Dorado.

 

Yellowfin tuna weight this July was about 15-30 lb and Dorado around 25 lb.

 

Picante Pride, Cabo Express 36’, released 8 Striped marlin and boated 5 dorado and 45 yellowfin tuna.


Picante Tolly 40’, released 6 Striped marlin and 1 Sailfish also. They boated 25 Yellowfin tuna, and 6 Dorado.


Picante 45, Cabo Express 45’, released 15 Striped marlin and 3 Blue marlin, they catch 34 Yellowfin tuna, and 4 Dorado.


Cabo Express 45’ Caliente 45, released 14 Striped Marlin and fished 28 Yellowfin tuna, they also landed 6 Dorado and one Wahoo.

In July, Striped marlin fishing was outstanding on the Mar de Cortez side. The windy days brought with them Bull Dorado and big Wahoo. Additionally, there were many football Tunas, perfect for sushi enthusiasts. Not only were these species plentiful, but the Picante fleet also reported Sailfish releases. Moreover, sharks continue to be present in impressive numbers, adding to the rich biodiversity of the area. This diverse marine life makes fishing in Los Cabos on summer a truly unforgettable experience.

The best bait/lure was Caballito and mackerel
Some of the best fishing spots in Cabo waters this July were: 11:50, 95 and La Herradura, Mar de Cortez side.

The 31’ Cabo Express, Picante Expresso released 30 Striped marlin and 2 Sailfish, landed 4 Dorado and 4 Yellowfin tuna for fresh sushi plus 1 big Wahoo for the record.


Ram Rod, the Albermarle 31 ft released 10 Striped marlin and got 2 Dorado and 2 Tunas also.


The 32’ Cabo Express, Picante Express released 23 Striped marlin and they boated 2 Dorado and 6  Yellowfin tuna and one more Wahoo for the count.


Salsa the Cabo Express 35’ released 15 Stripes plus 14 Tuna for sashimi and 4 Dorado.

Dorado weight was between 20 and 60 lb

July fishing was caliente, full of Striped marlin, good loads of Yellowfin tuna and nice Bull Dorado! The 31’ Cabo Express, Picante Expresso released 10 Striped marlin and 1 Blue Marlin, landed 21 Dorado and 10 Yellowfin tuna for fresh sushi.

Ram Rod, the albermarle 31′ released 2 Striped marlin and got 2 big Roosterfish and nice Toro at the beginning of July.

The 32’ Cabo Express, Picante Express released 13 Striped marlin and 1 Sailfish, they boated 22 Dorado and 8 Yellowfin tunas.

Salsa, the Cabo Express 35’, had a tuna month with the catch of 54 Yellowfin tuna, plus 5 Dorado for the count and 10 Striped Marlin released for the archive.

The 35’ Cabo Flybridge, Picante Dream, released 10 Striped marlin, they landed 10 Dorado and 12 Yellowfin tuna.

Picante Pride, Cabo express 36 ft, released 19 Striped marlin one Blue marlin and one Sailfish, the clients boated 25 Dorado and 36 Yellowfin tuna. Sushi time!

The Picante 40’ Tollycraft released 8 Striped marlin also and boated 16 nice Dorado some of them Bulls ones and 5 Yellowfin for dinner.

The 45’ Cabo Express Picante 45 released 15 Striped marlin and 3 Blue marlin, they also landed 14 Dorado and 14 Yellowfin tuna.
