In 1994, during the opening day of the Bisbee’s Black & Blue Tournament, first-time tournament angler Phil Gentile landed a record-breaking 993 lb Pacific blue marlin aboard his 40’ sportfisher Picante. The catch secured the daily jackpot and a brand-new 35’ Cabo Yacht—awarded for any marlin over 600 lbs on day one.
To this day, that fish remains the largest ever caught in Bisbee’s history, and Picante Sportfishing was born from that victory. The win also established a legendary association with Cabo Yachts and laid the foundation for what would become one of the pioneering Cabo fishing charters.
Thirty years later, Picante operates the premier owner-operator fleet in Cabo San Lucas—the largest collection of Cabo-brand yachts worldwide, ranging from 31’ to 45’. We’ve maintained a privileged location in the Cabo San Lucas Marina since day one, with our permanent storefront just steps from the docks where the action begins. To safeguard guests, Picante does not use dock vendors—we encourage anglers to visit our office directly and avoid unauthorized sellers.
