FISHING REPORT - February 2026 - Picante Sportfishing

Striped marlin during February in Cabo
PICANTE FLEET FISHING REPORT

February brought great fishing to Los Cabos. The warmer waters that moved in delivered an excellent bite for dorado and wahoo — always a welcome treat offshore!

Striped marlin numbers increased at the beginning of the month before slowing down slightly, but our charters still had the opportunity to encounter two or three acrobatic marlin per trip, making for exciting and memorable fishing days on the water.

Looking ahead to March, we expect steady Marlin action along with good opportunities for yellowtail, grouper, and snapper. If you’re planning to visit during Spring Break, don’t forget to book your fishing charter in advance. Plus, whale watching season is still in full swing, an added bonus that never fails to impress our guests.

The best fishing spots this February in Cabo were: : San Jaime, El Faro and 95 spot.
The best bait/lure was Caballito, Mackerel, Ballyhoo, plumas, palitos for Tuna, and marlin lures.

Enjoy the pictures!

FISHING REPORT - February 2025 - Picante Sportfishing

PICANTE FLEET FISHING REPORT

Cabo Inshore fishing in February was great, those who had Roosterfish on their bucket list have already made it, and not just with one but several specimens in the same day, double digits in some cases. At the beginning of the month we continued to find Tuna and Wahoo. Marlin fishing in February was not as we expected, crews are reporting plenty of marlin but just few bites, what was biting hard were the Makos, which are also released like the Marlin for their conservation. We hope March will be better for those billfish enthusiasts and we are looking forward to the mahi bite which makes fishing a lot of fun. Inshore fishing was also good for Sierra and delicious Yellowtail.

The best fishing spots in Cabo waters this February were: Golden gate, Los Arcos, El Faro and La Herradura.

The best bait/lure were: Mackerel, Ballyhoo, plumas, palitos, cedar plugs and marlin lures.

Mexico's only authorized MagBay yachts dealer

Mexico’s MagBay dealer Picante, was aboard the new model 38’ at the recent Miami International boat show. The all new model 38’ stunned the experienced crowd at her premiere in Miami.

After experiencing the soft and dry ride of the new boat at speed in government cut, Picante placed a deposit to order a new MagBay 38’ for delivery in Cabo this summer. The new MagBay 38 is proof of love at first sight.
