FISHING REPORT - September 2026 - Picante Sportfishing

September fishing in Cabo Striped marlin and cow tuna
PICANTE FLEET FISHING REPORT

September definitely lived up to its reputation as storm season in Los Cabos. The weather and port closures kept us off the water for some days, but the days we were able to fish certainly left us with plenty to celebrate! Our guests enjoyed exciting action with Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado, and plenty of Yellowfin Tuna.

After all the rain, we’re looking forward to seeing the Dorado bite pick up, while the cooler water temperatures should also bring the Black and Blue Marlin into the picture just in time for the excitement of the Bisbee’s tournaments!

At Picante Sportfishing, we’re more than ready for tournament season, are you?! Every year, hundreds of anglers come to Los Cabos to test their skills in our world-class waters, and October is one of the most exciting months to be here. The fishing is incredible, and you can feel the excitement and competitive spirit of tournament season throughout Cabo.

If you’re planning to fish in October, now is the time to reserve your charter. It’s a busy and highly sought-after time of year, and we’d love to have you Fish with the Winners!

The best bait/lure was Caballito, mackerel, live bait, ballyhoo, palitos, and marlin lures.
The best fishing spots this September in Cabo: Los Arcos, San Jaime and El Faro.
