It's encouraging to see our friends from SANOFI Group back in Cabo San Lucas for their annual convention. They have booked 6 or 7 boats per day for several days this week and next. All had a great time chasing fish around the Baja peninsula. There are more Striped Marlin in the area then we've seen recently, however, getting them to bite is another deal. Our best boat of the day was "Cisco" a 35' Cabo Express with Captain Jose "Mocho" Nunez at the helm and deckhand Ricardo working the cockpit. They released a Striped Marlin and boated 2 Yellowfin Tuna for the excited anglers that had their first experience offshore fishing.

Just a glorious sunny weekend here at Lands End with the spring time westerly and south westerly winds still pushing the cooler water in from the west and northwest. A definate temperature break has developed almost due south of the arch. Bait fish are holding in the break and that is also bringing in the Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo. TEAM PICANTE !!!!! spent the day with our wives on the famous "Picante", a 40' Tolleycraft with Captain David Lieras at the helm and deckhand Fernando working the cockpit. The day started early with 3 Yellowfin Tuna boated shortly after passing the Arch. Dorado and Marlin lures were put in the water and a shotgun lure was run straight down the middle with a jet head and wire leader. The shotgun reel went of and after a 15 minute fight a beautiful 85 lb. Wahoo was in the boat. All but the head and tail were carved up for all to enjoy including the spine which was grilled by the crew for dinner. She was loaded with roe and the guys kept that also. After 7 or 8 shots at a Striped Marlin we finally stuck a hook in 1 and fought that fish quickly for a smooth release.  Just another killer day plying the waters surrounding the tip of the Baja peninsula.
